Born in Washington, D.C., Nancy graduated Cum Laude from Clark University and the School of the Worcester Art Museum in 1968. In 1971 she received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Pratt Institute, where she studied photography, printmaking, and art therapy. This was followed by a Certificate in Psychotherapy from the Metropolitan Institute in 1975, and a Master of social Work degree from Hunter College in 1978.
Nancy has been a seasonal resident of Martha's Vineyard since 1953, and 2010 marks her tenth year with the juried Vineyard Artisan's Fetival. She travels extensively in Greece and had solo exhibitions in Athens in 2003, and at the Historical Archives Museum of Hydra, Greece, in 2004. Her photographs are shown in galleries in Greece, Martha's Vineyard, Cape Cod, the Berkshires and Saratoga, New York.
In 2001, Nancy won 1st Place, Color Photography, Art In The Park, Saratoga, New York. She has won nine awards in the Martha's Vineyard All-Island Art Show, including Best In Show, four blue ribbons, three special recognition awards and an Honorable Mention. In 2002, she was awarded second place in Interpreting Landscape, a national show juried by Sandra Carpenter, editor of Artist Magazine.
Nancy's images were selected for the Best New Products category at the 2003 National Stationery Show in New York City, and she is a recipient of an Alden Trust Scholarship and a 2004 grant from the New York Foundation for the Arts. Nancy is affiliated with the Jaynes Gallery/Danita Delimont Stock Photography. Her work has been featured in Vineyard Style, Cape Cod Life, The Washington Post, and Odyssey Magazines.
